New York offers many great Hotels, but if you are looking for a special Luxury Hotel there are many great options.
Do you like to be in the busy Times Square area or do you like to stay in the Midtown area ?
During my many visits to New York, I mostly stayed in Luxury 5 star hotels, close to the Times Square Area.
As it is always very noisy in that area, it was time for something different this time.
During this visit, I would like to stay in a newly renovated Hotel located in the Midtown of New York.
The Loews Regency Hotel New York is on Park Avenue and 61 St, in Midtown New York.
Conveniently located for business and leisure travelers, and just steps away from Central Park
The hotel re-opened on the 16th of January 2014, after a 100 million renovation project.
The Loews Regency Hotel in New York, opened its doors for the first time in 1963.
After this latest renovations the hotel opened again in January 2014, setting new standards for their guest for the next decade.
The Luxury accommodations are comprised of 379 rooms including 58 spacious suites.
The re-imagined Hotel combines the best of today’s design, form and function with 50 years of expertise.
As soon as you enter the fancy lobby, you know that you feel yourself home here.
Located to the right of the lobby and the main entrance on Park Avenue.
The Lobby Lounge is the perfect place to sit back and relax while enjoying a cappuccino or glass of wine.
It’s also the perfect vantage point for people-watching while you connect to our complimentary Wi-Fi.
So sit back, relax and take in the Park Avenue lifestyle.
They where already expecting us “Hello Mr Smulders welcome at the Hotel, how was your flight ?”
The check-in formalities where finished within one minut and they had a nice surprise for us.
Mr Smulders we have upgraded you to room 802, a GRAND two double beds room.
We took the elevator to the 8th floor and it was time to see the upgrade.
A real surprise to see such a spacious hotel room 802, over 440 square feet of luxury.
Decorated in a soothing mix of sleek, dove-gray neutrals, accented with touches of the palest lavender and mineral green.
The mood is cool and classic; the views, dramatic.
Each room has been thoughtfully designed with the needs of today’s traveler in mind.
Here, luxuries and modern conveniences are standard—from glorious Frette linens and bathrobes to state-of-the-art technology.
Including smart televisions, free Wi-Fi and plenty of built-in power outlets for all your favorite gadgets.
Take care of business at your spacious white marble desk and ergonomic leather chair.
Walk-in shower, with bathroom amenities by Julien Farel.
It was time to sit in the ergonomic chair at the Executive desk and read the personal welcome letter by the VIP manager.
But of course there was time to enjoy the lovely cheese plate as well.
As we arrive after 20.00 hours at the hotel, it was time to drop of the luggage and explore the city.
Stretching the legs for a evening walk to the Apple store at fifth Ave, just 300 meters from the hotel, was the first thing to do.
The Regency Bar
Located just off the hotel lobby, on the corner of Park Avenue and 61st Street.
The Regency Bar is a natural extension of The Regency Bar & Grill’s sophisticated dining room.
Here, you can enjoy specialty cocktails and fine wine specifically selected by Beverage Director, Andre Compeyre.
We did not feel like having a dinner as they served enough food during the Business Class flight with Air Berlin, so we went for a drink at the Bar.
After a few drinks, it was time to check out the spacious beds.
Are they really that good as they told us ?
Waking up in the morning was very difficult, the beds where great.
The hotel offers one of the best beds that you can find.
They are comfortable and together with the frette lines it was a pleasure sleeping in this bed.
After a great powerfull shower, it was time for our breakfast.
The breakfast is served at the ground level.
The Regency Bar & Grill offers new American cuisine emphasizing locally sourced ingredients, bright flavors and thoughtfully prepared seasonal vegetables coupled with high-quality meat and fish.
This exciting dining concept is managed by New York City restaurateurs Gherardo Guarducci and Dimitri Pauli.
The breakfast is not only a place to eat, but you also will find lots of Business men having meetings in the morning.
The breakfast here is famous for it’s Power Breakfast and gets back from 1975.
The tradition began informally in the mid-70s during New York City’s financial crisis.
Bob Tisch—founder of Loews Regency Hotel—invited the city’s business and political leaders to his Park Avenue hotel, for breakfast before the workday started.
They spent the time discussing ways to help the city recover from bankruptcy.
Recognizing the significance of its participants, Mr. Tisch dubbed the meetings “Power Breakfasts” and in doing so, forever changed how business was done in New York.
On any given weekday morning—from 7 AM to 10 AM—a collection of shiny black town cars are lined up three-deep outside the Hotel.
Inside, the tables are filled with movers and shakers from the worlds of Wall Street, entertainment, media and politics.
As they discuss business and close deals, they are simultaneously observing a morning ritual that has been ongoing for close to 40 years—the Loews Regency Hotel’s “Power Breakfast.”
Today, the Power Breakfast stands as one of the most iconic dining experiences in Manhattan.
Offering local New Yorkers and hotel guests the perfect opportunity for people watching, and the chance to dine among some of the most powerful professionals in New York City.
There is no Swimming Pool, but a very nice Gym and Spa area run by famous Julien Farel.
With successful locations in Miami and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Julien Farel has become one of the most celebrated names in hairstyling and the first choice for celebrities and VIP clientele in New York City.
So it’s no wonder that the hotel invited Mr. Farel and his team to debut their spectacular, 10,000-square-foot Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa, designed by Meyer Davis, within the hotel’s fabled walls.
Julian Farel’s expertise in curating experiences for the total mind and body makes a visit to this state-of-the-art beauty flagship both relaxing and invigorating.
Offering salon, spa and fitness services in an exquisite setting—the Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa will welcome guests with 32 cutting stations, a lounge/waiting area and a private salon space for VIP guests.
Other spa accommodations include three single massage rooms, one duet massage room, two facial rooms and a post-treatment relaxation lounge with a stunning double-sided glass fireplace.
In addition to an expansive treatment menu, the spa offers Julien Farel’s own line of anti-aging hair care products available for purchase.
Blending Mr. Farel’s extensive professional experience with innovation
The Business Centre and Meeting Room.
For business gatherings, the hotels has four exclusive meeting rooms available.
On the second floor of the hotel, all outfitted with high-speed Internet access and the latest in audio-visual technology.
Each room is flooded with natural light and can also be used for private dining.
For your convenience, the hotel’s Business Center is located near all four meetings rooms.
Feature extra space for entertaining in addition to private terraces and atriums with stunning cityscape and Park Avenue views.
Suite sizes range from 950 to 1,550 square feet.
There is quite simply nothing like them among other hotels on Park Avenue.
If you’ve always dreamed of throwing a fabulous New York City wedding, your wish can come true in style at the exclusive Park Avenue hotel.
Many weddings take place at this great venue.
We where about to walk to the city, when the Bell Boy informed us that we can use a complimentary drive in a Fiat 500 L.
Do you also get a free ride with a brand new Fiat 500 L was my reaction ?
Yes, you can either choose to drive your self for 3 hours or let the chauffeur drive you to your destination in the city.
That is what I say is a great extra service offered by the hotel.
The Loews Regency Hotel is a really excellent Hotel.
It’s not only a great Business Hotel but also for the leisure traveller, the hotel is a great place that you want to stay in.
For sure we will stay here more often in the future.
The Hotel is still setting standards in New York sophistication also in 2014
