Located on the highest point of Ravello, at 350 meters above sea level, it is an oasis of peace and tranquility, with a wonderful breathtaking view. Hotel can be reached, in a short time, from the beaches and the famous resorts of the Amalfi Coast: Amalfi, Positano, Atrani, Sorrento, and Naples, Herculaneum and Pompei.
The Hotel Caruso‘s 50 rooms, of which 26 are suites and 24 double rooms, have been splendidly restored allowing you to relax in elegant and spacious surroundings. Guestroom amenities include safe, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, Internet Broadband (WiFi), mini-bar, colour satellite TV, VCR, CD player with DVDs, access to a comprehensive video library of all films from Academy Award winners, bathrobe, hairdryer and weightscale.
Airy marble bathrooms with double vanities, bidets, giant tubs with separate showers, an assortment of Bulgari, Molton Brown, and Penhaligon’s bath lotions, sublimely soft robes, and complimentary slippers inspire bath after bath.
Dining facilities at the Hotel Caruso Ravello include Caruso Restaurant (indoor) with a patio for warmer weather; located on the first floor with a spectacular terrace from where you can admire the breathtaking views of the Coast. The Belvedere Restaurant, located on the Belvedere area close to the pool, is an open air restaurant. The Poolside Snacks & Bar serves informal luncheons and drinks. The Cocktail and Piano Bar is located on the first floor of the main building, decorated with original 18th century frescoes.
Other facilities include an open-air heated infinity swimming pool, a gymnasium with panoramic views at the Belvedere, Boutique & Signature Shop, free internet point and a spa. Guests will be able to play tennis at a nearby tennis court, arrangements will be done by the hotel’s Concierge.
Complimentary shuttle service to Amalfi and Positano and complimentary hotel boat for romantic excursion through the Amalfi Coast.
This all sounds great, and has the ingredients for an Excellent Rating.
There is only one reason for the lower rating, and that is the inexperienced sometimes rude staff. Staff is the most important factor for a pleasant stay, and the only reason why this hotel is rated very good, in stead of excellent.
