Intercontinental Hotel Doha
Nestled in landscaped gardens with 500 meters of sandy beach, the Intercontinental Doha features 8 restaurants and bars including the famous Belgian Café, a range of recreational facilities and a free form swimming pool.
The hotel’s prime location is just minutes from downtown Doha and major government and corporate offices and within walking distance to the Doha Exhibition Centre, City Center Mall and Doha Golf Club.
Located in West Bay, this beachfront hotel is the only hotel that is located directly at the Persian Gulf.
The Intercontinental hotel has a great beach.
As we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha, there was a major concert on the beach with over 2000 visitors.
Lost Frequencies alias Belgium DJ Felix De Laet was performing with Tinie Tempah as we arrived at the hotel.
This time only a short visit at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha, not longer than 20 hours.
On this occasion I was working on a Business Class special with the Best Airline in the World Qatar Airways.
Qatar Airways main hub is Doha, and as I was traveling with a person who was a bit older ( 76 years ) I needed to make a stopover in Doha as we departed Amsterdam on our way to Sydney Australia.
As I am a big fan of the Belgian Beer Cafe ( BBC ) the choice for the Intercontinental Hotel Doha was easy, as this hotel has a Belgian Beer Cafe.
Arriving late at night ( or early morning ) 01.20 the limo-driver was waiting for us.
Hello Mr Smulders and Mrs van Den Hout, welcome to Doha it is 32 degrees Celsius and the airco is working, let me drive you both to our Intercontinental Hotel Doha.
The ride took about 25 minutes and the driver offered me to use the free WiFi inside the Limo.
So that travel time was used to do a bit of working and check my emails as I was traveling for over 6 hours to Doha.
When we arrived at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha it was busy as guests where about to leave the hotel from the beach concert.
Mr Smulders and Mrs van den Hout your rooms are ready.
Mr Smulders your room is 443 and Mrs van den Hout your room is 445.
As we only carried hand luggage, we where in our room soon after the fast check in.
As the Intercontinental Hotel Doha is currently is undergoing a major overhaul, we booked us a newly renovated Classic Room.
Don’t worry, the wing is ready, no construction work is going on, it just needs a cleanup.
You can’t hear anything inside the Intercontinental Hotel Doha about the construction.
A brand new designed room 443, featuring all the things you need or want inside a hotel room.
The newly designed rooms have a nice touch of Arabic twist.
The Rooms are spacious and have about 40 sqm of space.
You will find complimentary WiFi internet, A luxury 40 Inch TV with satellite Channels and a Coffee machine.

The view is great, you oversee the sea and the swimming pool from the hotel.
A Luxury Bathroom with a very nice shower and big bathtub.
But most important we had a great night sleep, the bed was truly fabulous.
It was time to start the day with a nice breakfast im the Coral Restaurant.
If the manager is happy, the customer is happy at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha.
The hospitality from the staff is really great, there are so many options to choose from.
The breakfast was perfect and local specialties are offered at the table.
It was time to walk around and let the breakfast relax a bit.
As soon as I left the Intercontinental Hotel Doha to visit the beach, the temperature of 42 degrees Celsius was notable.
The Intercontinental Hotel Doha has a great beach and is the only hotel in Doha that has a own beach located at the hotel.
In September a new wing will be opening featuring the new executive rooms and new Executive lounge.
As you can see here some photo’s from the new Executive Lounge to be opened in September.
It only needs a clean up and is ready to go.
Brand new and twice as big as before in trendy Arabic colors.
It was time to have lunch at the Belgian Beer Cafe and have a nice beer.
If there is a Belgian Beer Cafe in the city where I stay, you will find me there for a meeting or just to relax.
The BBC still looks great and is quite big, but not big enough for Doha standards.
The biggest Belgian Beer Cafe will be opening here in September 2016.
This Belgian Beer Cafe ( BBC ) can host over 700 people.
As you can see, just a clean up and the biggest Belgian Beer Cafe is ready for 700 people.
The new wing is ready, no construction work is going on anymore and you can’t hear anything we you stay at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha.
Just the finishing touch and in September 2016 the Grand Opening will be happening at the Intercontinental Hotel Doha.
The Intercontinental Hotel Doha is not only a great Business Hotel, but also for the leisure traveller, a great place to stay.
With the beach at your convenience, in the weekends you will also see families at this luxury 5 star hotel.
