Aman Canal Grande Venice Hotel

Aman Venice is located in a Grand Canal Palazzo in the heart of the ancient water city, steeped in history and synonymous with romance.
This must be the reason why George Clooney married his wife Amal Alamuddin at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel in September 2014.

Located in San Polo, it is one of the oldest parts of Venice.
If you take the ferry to San Silvestro, you are just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
You are just minutes away from the most important monuments, St. Marco Square is just a 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
From the hotel you can see the Rialto Bridge.

We arrived at Marco Polo Airport and arranged the water Taxi from the airport to the hotel.
As we where carrying some luggage for our Train Ride back to London, with the Venice Simplon Orient Express, we hired a luxury water Taxi for € 140,00.
Yes, one way € 140,00 but there are no cars in Venice and swimming was not an option.

The hotel has a private waterside dock, and as soon as we docked, the concierge welcomed us and took our luggage to our room.

As soon as you enter the historic Grand Canal Palazzo, you feel that something special is going to happen.
As I have stayed in many leading Hotel in the World, it always felt like arriving in a busy luxury Hotel.
But as soon as you enter the lobby from the Aman Hotel, it feels more like you enter your own living room.
You don’t see many people walking around, but just one person who welcomes you.

With period pieces and original architectural details, each Aman Venice Room and Signature Room is a unique space redolent of the palazzo’s romantic heritage.

Room number 8:

The hotel offers complimentary high speed Wi-Fi Internet, in the rooms and other area’s in the hotel and roof terrace.
The mini bar is complimentary, including the alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Great spectacular views over the Grand Canal and exclusive Garden.
And a fantastic Bose Sound system with a large flatscreen TV.

You enter the room and you will have a private seating area and an armoire with a personal mini bar.
This is just the middle section of the spacious suite.

If you go to the right, you will find the large badroom with wardrobe, bath, toilet and a power full rain shower.

Great oriental based amenities can be found in the bathroom.

In the rating you will see that we mentioned a swimming pool, but for this hotel we use the fabulous garden for ranking.
It must be an unique garden in Venice, as this must be the only private garden in Venice.
After dinner, just relax and read a book in the garden, while you enjoy a nice glass of Chardonnay.

The Aman Hotel has 5 levels and has many rooms where you just can relax, read a book our enjoy a drink.
I am sure you will find a room that is suitable for you.
Many rooms have painted ceilings and all rooms are different, from classic rooms to a nice library.

Roof Terrace:

If you go up to the fifth floor, you will be amazed by the stunning views over Venice, from the traditional Altana (Rooftop Terrace).
Just sit in the sun, listen to the music, drink a glas of wine and enjoy the view.

Breakfast:

Breakfast at the Aman is like having a dinner in a Michelin restaurant.
If you are looking for the buffet, you will be disappointed at the Aman Hotel.
In this 5 star (red 7 star ) hotel, you only can choose from an a la carte menu.

It looks great on the photo’s, but it tasted even better.
A great way to start the day.

Back Entrance:

It was time to visit Venice.
Venice is a great city that you can explore best by walking the small streets and Piazza’s.
The Aman Hotel has a back entrance which gives you direct access to the small streets in Venice.
Just drop the room key at the concierge desk when you leave the hotel.
As soon as you hit the bell to open the gate when you get back, they know that you will be arriving, and the key will be handed over to you as soon as you enter the Lobby.

Dinner:

Make sure that you book your dinner way in advance.
Many people will enjoy the serenity of the Aman restaurant for a great dinner.
Chef Akio Fujita mixes different combinations like warm/cold /spicy /sweet in one dish.
The taste is suburb and one of a kind.

As I have stayed in many hotels, this hotel is truly a one of a kind hotel with an unique experience.
One of the best Hotels in the world, that I have stayed in.
You don’t feel that you stayed in a luxury hotel, but more that you stay with a great family, but one with a VIP treatment.
